Entrevista a NIS America

¡The Witch and the Hundred Knight me va a tener muy ocupado durante mucho, mucho tiempo!

Entrevista original:

Hi,

First of all, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to do this interview. Who do I have the pleasure to speak with?

You have the pleasure of speaking with Chris King!  I’m one of the many servants here at NIS America.  My job is PR/Marketing, mainly in the European regions.

We all find ourselves in a moment of new consoles, expansion around the world, new IP’s, remake from classics, a great growth of indie companies…how is NIS America doing with it? Is some of these things affecting the company, or otherwise, helping to increase fans and sells?

NIS America is standing strong, thanks to all of the hardcore JRPG fans who still stay loyal to the genre.  As long as the love and connection exists between JRPG and the fans, then we will still remain strong.

Is being hard to expand in a market as Europe? Is easier now? Or maybe harder?

Europe has a huge fan-base for our titles.  It hasn’t gotten any harder, but it isn’t a piece of cake, either.

In you web page, we still cannot find new titles for Playstation 4 or XBOX One. Has NISA prepare new launches for new generations?

Our president, Mr. Niikawa, has mentioned a few times now that NISJ is working on a game for the PS4.  This is all we know at the moment.  Regarding XBOX One, it all depends on the developers in Japan.  If they decide to develop more games for the XBOX One, then we will have an easier time bringing them to North America and Europe.

What do you think about this new generation? Was last generation already death? New generation came too soon?

This generation is going to be very interesting.  Several JRPG developers are going to have to think about new, evolutionary strategies in order to keep up with powerful PS4 and XBOX One platforms.

What do you think about indie games and indie companies?

I think they are truly inspiring.  A handful of people come together, put in a ton of work, and create fun and addicting games that sometimes bring a nostalgic tear to the players’ eyes.  Not only that, but I love the fact that their games have so many unique features and system mechanics while still maintaining that old-school feel.  They are able to take these risks – something that giant developers would have to think twice about.

I had the opportunity to analyze Mugen Souls, and I enjoyed a lot this game. In your web page, a sequel is marked to be released this year. Is there a concrete date now, or we will have to wait a bit more to know it?

There isn’t a concrete date just yet for Mugen Souls Z.  If things go as planned, we might be seeing it in retail form before summertime begins.

Apart from Mugen Souls, what are your new releases in next months?

We have The Witch and the Hundred Knight, Demon Gaze coming out within the next couple months.  After that, we’ll see Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection – Plus, all the games we recently announced for 2014, which include Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited, Fairy Fencer F, Danganronpa 2, and Battle Princess of Arcadias.  That’s definitely keeping us busy, dood!

I think that “The Witch and the Hundred Knights” will be one of the most interesting games that NISA will release this year. What is your favorite next release from NISA in next months?

The Witch and the Hundred Knight is going to keep me busy for a long, long time!  The game is our first action RPG, and kind of reminds me of playing Diablo II back in the day.  However, being the hardcore PS Vita fan I am, I can’t get enough of Demon Gaze.  It’s the perfect game to pick up, play for an hour, set down, pick up again, set down, etc.  I can’t wait until these games land in Europe!

I think that many fans are asking about it, although is not a big problem actually, but, will we see a title from NISA translated to another language apart from English?

At the moment we don’t have any plans to have our games in another language aside from English.  If the JRPG fan-base in EU territories increases, then it might be something we could consider.

I normally use last question to give the interviewee the opportunity to tell anything he/she want, so here is your moment. If you want to tell us about something in special that we haven’t still talk yet, you are free now to do it.

I just really want to thank all of the fans who enjoy our titles and continue to support us.  The more support we receive, the more games we are able to bring to Europe.  Thank you all so much!

From Tecnoslave we thank you again for these questions, and we wish to have good news soon from you.

Thanks for having me!  I hope you enjoyed our recent 2014 title announcements (there still may be some unannounced ones!), and keep the grind on, dood!
